Mutton Keema Recipe (Minced mutton)

Mutton Keema Recipe

MUTTON KEEMA RECIPE – This is my first ever blog post. I want it to be something special so I finally settled on our family favorite Mutton Keema recipe. There are many variations of keema with green peas, tomatoes but let me save those for some other time.

This recipe has been cooked in our kitchen since childhood. Keema is best served with roti, naan, paratha, and rice. But I love eating this with rice and rasam (I will share the recipe soon).

Red meat is considered not too healthy but its fine to indulge in such recipes occasionally. Let’s not waste any time and go ahead with the recipe.

STEP BY STEP MUTTON KEEMA RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS:
  1.  Take a deep bottom or non stick pan and add 3 tbsp oil.
  2. Add onions, turmeric powder and fry till they turn translucent for 3-4minutes.
  3. Then add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes away.
  4. Add Keema and cook it on medium flame for 5 minutes till it oozes water.
  5. Add salt, chili powder, cover and cook on medium flame for 15-20 mins until its completely cooked. Keep stirring in between and add water if necessary.
  6. Remove the lid, add garam masala, jeera powder and coriander leaves and let it cook for 2 mins and switch off the flame.
  7. While serving garnish with few coriander leaves and squeeze little lemon juice.

2.      Adjust spice level according to personal taste
3.      You can use store bought masala powders but I prefer freshly ground spices.
